The growth of our company is largely attributed to the quality of our sound and for over a decade, Atomic has confidently featured Adamson products. We are excited to announce our participation as a beta tester in Adamson’s Project Energia. We just received our first twenty-four E15 boxes and our staff is already impressed. We look forward to getting this system on the road and the opportunity to help shape this platform’s bright future.

SUNY LMFAO and Far East Movement

When SUNY Albany asked us to throw them a party to remember, we pulled out all the stops! Atomic provided sound, lights, video, cryogenics, lasers, backline, staging, barricade and a camera crew to document all the fun. Headliner LMFAO brought the crowd supported by our friends The Far East Movement. We cut this recap video to help the school promote future events:

Keene Pumpkin Festival 2011

Every year thousands of families from all over New England flock to Keene, NH for the city’s annual Pumpkin Festival. This year Atomic was tasked with blanketing the immense festival grounds with sound and providing power distribution for the multitude of vendors. The challenge of covering a half mile stretch of the city’s downtown and several broad adjacent lots with intelligible audio was met by creative design and substantial preparation. We employed an array of speakers including 70V paging horns, conventional point-source speakers and even a carefully concealed Adamson Spektrix line array. At the end of the day, the City’s emergency services staff was thrilled with the coverage and reliability of the system and the event staff appreciated the hard work of our staff. Production Manager Kurt Steelman shared these kind words:

When I was hired by Let It Shine, Inc in February ’11 as the Festival Production Manager, my first task was to hire a pro audio contractor. After a prompt and thorough site visit with Kevin, he quickly returned with a fresh, practical and affordable solution to the event’s sound needs. The plan called for custom brackets to quickly install the 70 volt speakers in the massive downtown footprint and the addition of a line array to our Central Square structure. The load in, event and strike went more smoothly than I could have anticipated. The Atomic crew was polite, courteous, timely, knowledgeable and adapted quickly to the many issues that arise in this type of event. I was approached for weeks after the event by patrons and volunteers to compliment the “awesome sound”!!!

EMS Nor'easter

The 2011 Nor’easter Festival presented by Eastern Mountain Sports found a new home this year at Burlington’s Waterfront Park. As in past years, Atomic provided sound, lights, backline, a mobile stage and site services for festivals main music venue in the park. We also provided production for the televised rock climbing event and Church Street stage.

This year’s lineup featured over 20 bands including headliners: G. Love and Special Sauce, RJD2, Okkervil River and Mariachi El Bronx. We are proud of our relationship with EMS and look forward to seeing this festival grow again next year!

Moe.Down XII

This year’s moe.down festival in Mohawk, NY marked the twelveth year of the band’s successful gathering and featured supporting acts: Ween, Levon Helm with Bob Weir, TV on the Radio, Slightly Stoopid, Bruce Hornsby, Railroad Earth, Ozomatli and The New Mastersounds. This year was our first opportunity to provide Main Stage audio in addition to the power and site rentals we have provided in the past. To cover the site’s challenging natural amphitheater, Systems Engineer Daniel Ostroff deployed an Adamson Y-Axis System consisting of two main hangs of Y-18′s with underhung Y-10′s, supported by Metrix front-fills, T-21 Subs and Lab.Gruppen amplification. Monitor world was staffed by John Skahill and Angela Champine and featured Adamson M15 monitor’s and an Avid Venue console.

We are excited to extend our long relationship with moe. and to add moe.down to our roster of North-East festivals.

Lake Champlain Maritime Festival

We just wrapped another great year for the LCMF which has combined forces with the Grand Points North Music Festival presented by Higher Ground. In it’s fifth year, the festival has become one of Burlington’s hottest annual events drawing thousands of people to the city’s beautiful Waterfront Park. As always, Atomic provided production management, sound, lights, backline, a mobile stage and site services including power distribution and barricade.

This year’s festival was headlined by hometown favorite Grace Potter and the Nocturnals who were supported by O.A.R., Nas & Damian Marley, Taj Mahal, The Wood Brothers and a slew of great local acts. The crowd was even treated to a surprise encore appearance by Kenny Chesney to end the weekend.

The Big Up

What a year for The Big Up! We have watched this event grow into a major force in the North East festival scene under the guidance of Event Producer Jules Jenssen and his talented crew at Shireworks Productions. We returned to Sunnyview Farms this year providing sound, lights, our SL-250 Mobile Stage and Barricade for the Main Stage as well as sound systems and personnel for the side stage and late-night indoor location.

Festival acts included: EOTO, Tipper, RAQ, Digital Tape Machine, Ott, Marco Benevento, Papadosio, Higher Organix, The Indobox and our friends from Vermont, Twiddle.

Audio crew included: Dan Ostroff, Keith “Buzzy” Buzzell, Frank Barone, Vic Hess and Timmy Schad. The stage was built by Dennis Johnson. Our talented Lighting Designer Matty “Banks” Serrani dazzled festival goers with a creative and dynamic lighting package, which was augmented by Big Gigantic’s touring rig featured in the video below.

Camp Bisco X

Camp Bisco exploded this year! This year’s festival featured over a hundred performances on five stages and marked the 10th anniversary of the event which enjoyed an unprecedented attendence and an escalated production scale. Atomic was once again the primary contractor providing: production management, main stage audio, festival backline and site services.

Headlining Acts: The Disco Biscuits, Cut Copy, Wiz Khalifa, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Shpongle Live, Ratatat, Skrillex, The New Deal, Neon Indian, Four Tet, Nero, Break Science, Conspirator, Lettuce, Easy Star All-Stars, and Beats Antique.

Main Stage Audio Equipment:
Three Hangs of eight Adamson Y-18s with four Y-10 under-hangs, supported by twenty T-21 subs, eight Spektrix W front-fills and four SX-18 out-fills. Powered by Lab.Gruppen amplification and processed on XTA DP-448s.

A variety of Avid, DigiCo, Yamaha and Midas Consoles satisfied riders at FOH and Monitor positions, with Adamson M-15 monitors and McCauley side-fills on stage.

July 4th with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic

Atomic returned to the Dutchess County Fairgrounds for this year’s July 4th Celebration featuring the Hudson Valley Philharmonic. We provided sound, lights and our extended SL-250 mobile stage to support the orchestra’s performance. Those assembled were treated to a stunning mix by Atomic’s own Tim Rollet who was assisted by “Atomic Grandfather” Sandor Margolin.

Wanderlust – Stratton

When Wanderlust evolved from a single site into a national series of event, the industry veterans at All Phases Event Group tapped Atomic to provide production services. We are excited to report on our participation in the inaugural Wanderlust Music and Yoga Festival at Stratton Mountain. Atomic provided sound, lights, staging and site equipment for a variety of indoor and outdoor event spaces ranging from small instruction rooms to a large concert field.
